Managed to get a couple of paying customers before the rain started… ah well, time to close soon.

So how to tell when we have a time waster in the shop. One big giveaway - they engage conversation by asking questions eg “where do you get your stock” Sorry, you want to put me out of business by not buying anything, yet you expect me to tell you the trade dealings? Please go away.

We will be leaving the premises in January, so if you want to redeem your card (incidentally the best value bookshop card around, others require 8 or 9 stamps, we only require 6) then you need to do so before then.
It’s not a great feeling, as if we’d got only 20% of what people spend in other shops, bars and cafes (particularly around QP) we’d have stood a chance. But we didn’t succeed in coaxing people into buying our vision, maybe people thought we were a charity operation or just a place to dump books. However there were some very nice people who did purchase from our shop, and we’d like to thank them fully for allowing us to reach 8 years in operation.
We will continue to sell books and cards until January 2023, and would like to remind you we also sell book tokens that can be used in all major bookstores.
