🔬 PART 2 👩‍🔬 Which other expensive skincare or makeup should we compare next? Tell us in the comments 💬

Although this video contains ads, we tested all three cleansing balms over the course of multiple weeks and our key findings are detailed for you below. We compared their ability to remove makeup whilst keeping the skin hydrated and healthy, as well their texture and ingredients. We hope you find this information and comparison useful!

Similarities:

⭐️ All cleansing balms contain the star * ingredient “Linoleic Acid”.
This Lineolic Acid comes from the Safflower Oil in the Clinique and from Sunflower Oil in the Superdrug B. Melting Cleansing Balm & La Prairie. Linoleic Acid is a Omega-6 fatty acid which helps protect the skin barrier.
⛔️All three cleansing balms are alcohol free which ensures the skin
does not feel stripped or tight after using
💧All three contain Vitamin E
🥛 All three cleansing balms contain many of the same emollients which give them all a balm to milky texture

Differences
🫠The La Prairie has a lower melting point, which makes its inital texture is softer compared to both Clinique and Superdrug. The texture of Clinique and Superdrug is very similar as you can see in the video.
👃The Clinique cleansing balm is fragrance free and free from essential oils making it great for sensitive skin
🧈 Clinique does not contain Shea Butter but the Superdrug and La Prairie does

We tested 11 different toners for this AD and we found many insane similarities between the Korean-made Laneige Cerapeptide Cream Skin Toner, the luxury Charlotte Tilbury Glow Toner and the affordable Superdrug Me+ Milky Toner!

We assessed each product based on its ability to hydrate, plump and calm the skin as well as give a glass-skin finish. We analysed the products in the lab using specialist equipment and techniques, as well as using the toners on different skin types and tones for independent feedback over the course of 4 weeks.

Below are the key similarities between these three toners:

✅ Both the CT and Superdrug toners contain many of the same key ingredients such as Niacinamide, Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate, which are all renowned for their benefits
✅ All 3 toners are water-based making them fast-absorbing and incredible at delivering hydration
✅ All 3 toners are alcohol free and will not dry out the skin
✅ All 3 toners contain plant extracts which soothe and calm the skin

The key differences between the three toners
❌ The Laniege toner contains ceramides and peptides which are not found in either of the CT or Superdrug toners
❌ The texture of the Laneige toner is more watery, whereas the CT and Superdrug both have a thicker consistency

- Both contain Glycerin which hydrates the skin .
- Both serums are alcohol-free.

When we independently tested these serums before creating this advertisement feature for Superdrug, we tried many different expensive and affordable Vitamin C’s to provide you with the most-accurate & science-based affordable alternatives. We ran multiple tests and trialled the products different skin types, to see how effective each of them are at providing the widely-studied benefits of Vitamin C.

Here are the key similarities and differences between the £165 SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum, the £69 Medik8 Super C Ferulic serum and the Superdrug Me+ Extra Strength 10% Vitamin C Booster serum:

Key Similarities:
• All 3 have a watery texture that easily absorbs into the skin
• All 3 contain Ferulic Acid which makes the Vitamin C pe*****te the skin more effectively, as it helps stabilise the Vitamin C. This is why these 3 serum formulas are superior to many other Vitamin C serums.
• All 3 serums brighten skin, improve skin radiance, reduce appearance of fine lines, provide protection against UV damage and pollution, even out skin tone and improve skin texture!

Key Differences:
• Compared to Medik8’s £69 serum, the £13 Superdrug’s serum is better for acne-prone skin, and better for beginner users of Vitamin C, as the Medik8 serum has a higher concentration of Vitamin C and is it not recommended for beginners or sensitive skin.
• Skinceuticals and Medik8 contain Vitamin E
