“A ground plat of Londonderry” (1693) by Captain Samuel Hobson. Hobson was listed as a Williamite rebel against King James in the King’s 1689 Act of Attainder - subject to confiscation of his property - but he lived to see the king beaten at the Battle of the Boyne and forced into exile. His great-great grandson William Hobson was the future governor of New Zealand and the virtual founder of that country.

'New York' by Hermann Bollmann (1962). Vintage axonometric "bird's eye view" city tourist plan, 85.0 x 108.5cm, 33.5 x 42.75 inches. This map was created for the 1964 World’s Fair. Bollmann developed the traditional German cartographic art form known as Vogelschaukarten, which had originated in the 15th century and become popular in the 19th century; Bollmann's maps were the first of this type to be produced since the 1860s.
