Discover new & second-hand books, journals and zines, feminist gifts & merchandise within a unique Library. We opened in November 2013 selling new and second hand books, periodicals and zines - we have an amazing collection of vintage editions of Spare Rib and fantastic zines from 50p, as well as beautiful c

ards, tote bags and badges by feminist designers. All are welcome to come and hang out in the warm and poke around the library. The building is wheelchair accessible, if you have other specific access requirements please get in touch. We have an ever growing stock of pamphlets and books, and can try to source things for you from publishers so if there's something you are looking for please let us know. We offer a 10% student discount and a 15% discount to Feminist Library Friends. If you are an author or zine artist and would like to enquire about our stocking your work please email.

We're bringing together artists, zine makers, publishers and creatives for a fantastically festive event. There will be workshops including zine making, creative writing and collection tours, all first come first served on the day. Plus, mulled wine and tasty food.

Join us for our first ever parent/mother and baby group!
Come along for a mini tour of the collection (including our children’s books), a cuppa, and a friendly chat. Nothing formal, children of all ages welcome, biscuits provided!

If you'd like to come please send us a quick email at [email protected] so we can have an idea of numbers due to covid. We'll take your temperature as you enter, and ask that you wear a mask (unless drinking tea!)

The Feminist Library has landed in Helsinki! We’re featured in Companions, a collaborative exhibition by Finnish and UK based for reflection, learning and dreaming. This exhibition explores different associations with the word companion, their absence during the pandemic and the longing for them. The artists have worked across a range of different mediums, including sculpture, drawing and film, to map out the ways these relationships manifest in the body. Happy Women in Translation Month!

This annual campaign seeks to highlight and rectify the gender imbalance in world literature, promoting women writers from across all walks of life, all languages, and all experiences.

We are celebrating by showcasing our incredible women writers in translation including legends such as Izumi Suzuki and Rigoberta Menchú.
