We've launched a petition 👉 bit.ly/fashion-for-climate
Here's why you should sign it:

We're in the middle of a climate emergency, yet fast-fashion brands are selling more clothes than ever before. And the vast majority is made from the most polluting fibres in fashion; conventional cotton, generic viscose and virgin polyester, despite eco-friendlier alternatives being widely available!

It is crystal clear that the fashion industry needs regulation fast. We cannot continue like this. A ban is easy to implement and a four-year grace period will give brands and fabric mills a reasonable time to transition to more sustainable fibres.

The result? A significant reduction in carbon emissions, soil and water-pollution. An accelerated clean-up of the fashion industry. A tangible, positive impact on the planet.

Make a difference today. Sign & share the petition. All it takes is 2 mins of your time 👉 bit.ly/fashion-for-climate

Back to the factory? United News of Bangladesh reported yesterday that although Bangladesh is on official lockdown, garment workers are risking lives to try and get to their factories. The news suggested thousands of garment workers left homes around the country to head to Dhaka, the capital city, in an attempt to save their jobs. Some workers have been told that if they fail to show up to their factories, they will be sacked. Though workers are putting themselves at risk of contracting the virus, the risk of being without work and income has proved a greater threat.

This update follows continued reports of big global fashion brands cancelling in-production and finished orders and ceasing to pay for these goods as the global pandemic slows fashion consumption.
