Plastic free July
Day 17!
Reusable nappies are a popular choice for those reducing plastic waste in their lives. ๐ฟ
The average child will use about 7,000 diapers before they are (toilet) potty trained. These end up in landfills, as they can not be recycled.
To avoid this, many parents and carers have switched to cloth nappies. Often the cloth inserts sit inside a durable outer nappy, combining the leak-proof elastic of a disposable with the sustainability of washable cloth.
Some people choose to use a โnappy libraryโ, so people can sign up to try different types of reusables before committing to a type.
See story for link to a Nappy Library near you.
