This year saw the hugely unexpected publication of Creepy Worlds 250 for which I was given the immense privilege of being able to write and draw (along with the undoubted talents of Nick Neocleous & Lee Townsend) two brand new strips. Alan Class comics were a formative influence for me so this was an absolute pleasure. I’ll shortly be offering The fifth issue of my own comic, Tales of the Wonder Kind, via kickstarter. Both the strips produced for Creepy Worlds 250 are included in this issue and the original art for these strips will be available as part of the promotion. These pages are pretty much the only examples of original material produced for an Alan Class comic, so if anyone is interested it’s a genuinely unique opportunity. Almost as unlikely as Creepy Worlds 250 itself.

Five brand new tales inspired by the Golden and Silver ages of Heroes & Horror!

I was lucky enough to exchange letters with Steve between 2008-2010. Insane as it seems now I attempted to commission him to draw a strip for my comic Tales of the Wonder Kind. I’d written a script and drawn thumbnail versions of a story called the Wish Keeper and tried to get him to draw it for me. I was amazed that he replied at all to be honest. I totally failed but he was very nice about it. I’m now up to issue 5 of my comic which will launch on kickstarter shortly. I’ve included the letters Steve and I exchanged in the issue along with the finished strip that eventually resulted. The original Ditko letters will be available as part of the promotion if anyone is interested.
