I still have a sweater and leather skirt that somebody just didn't love anymore but also didn't want to throw away or just donate. We all gave her a bag of our old stuff, then she set it all out in neat sec
tions by type, and then we all got together and had tea and bubbles and cake and a whale of a time while we went 'shopping'. There were no hard and fast rules, and everyone went home really stoked. At the end, anything leftover could be reclaimed by the suddenly sentimental and then we donated the rest to charity. Those were great times and I made new friends, plus was always able to upgrade my wardrobe for nothing. I'm looking to do the same here in London and I have an E1 rooftop locale for the gathering. Let's have a few drinks and upgrade our looks! Drop off a bag of clothes....take home a bag of clothes. Bring or send your stuff in a cab to me prior to the event and then just turn up to have it all organised on racks, ready for 'shopping'! There is no confirmed date as of yet, but once we have enough interest we'll firm up a plan and I can start taking collections. We are looking for volunteers in the meantime to start helping with what we have already, so we'd love to hear from you if you want to be involved! All leftovers can be reclaimed and then brought to the Destitution Resource Centre in Hackney for refugee support
