The team (Tim and Ruby) popped in the Bookshop to have a look at Women's Speaking Justified.

Paul N. Anderson translated to Modern English the first full-length treatment of women’s church leadership. Women’s Speaking Justified, was written in 1666 by co-founder Margaret Fell, whilst imprisoned for her beliefs in Lancaster Gaol. She used the time to work through the entire Bible, showing how there are examples of women’s ministry and leadership throughout it.

✏️ DRAWING HOPE – CHILDREN’S ART FOR PEACE EXHIBITION

Drawing Hope: Children's art for peace is a global peace initiative that delivers messages of hope through children's artwork for intergenerational dialogue.

This exhibition is in collaboration with 어린이어깨동무 Okedongmu Children in Korea, an organisation dedicated to transforming conflict into a peaceful future on the Korean peninsula. The exhibition has recently been shown at the UN in New York. It includes drawings from children living in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea, Colombia, South Africa, Cambodia, Ireland, USA, Japan, and China.

The Drawing Hope website has more information about the project. We hope children in Britain will see the exhibition and wish to contribute their own drawings of hope for peace.

There will be a launch event in the evening on Tuesday 3 March.

The exhibition and launch are free to attend.

The Escape Artist is a must-read, based on a true story. Nineteen-year-old Rudolf Vrba and fellow inmate Fred Wetzler became two of the very first Jews to successfully escape Auschwitz. Evading the thousands of SS men hunting them, Vrba and Wetzler made the perilous journey on foot across Nazi-occupied Poland. Their mission: to reveal to the world the truth of the Holocaust. Vrba’s unique testimony would save some 200,000 lives. But he kept on running - from his past, from his home country, his adopted country, even from his own name. Now, at last, Rudolf Vrba’s heroism can be known.
