Among the small shops on the east side of Highgate Village High Street lies a miniature emporium filled with a constantly changing mix of top quality clothes, curiosities, toys, books, music and a selection of fair-trade food and drinks. Oxfam Highgate’s online shop markets a range of exclusive products ranging from designer clothes to antique maps and collectables. The Oxfam shop gives volunteers
the opportunity to work in an environment in many ways more demanding than the average high street shop, since decisions on pricing of donated goods, merchandising and window display are all taken in shop rather than being dictated from head office. All volunteer receive training and practical experience in various areas of shop activity, from till operations and window dressing to management and financial administration.
