MR. YT - Universo (SHORT SPAN)
The cult deep house alias of Yuji Takenouchi was last seen on Brand New Day in 2017, which compiled a series of soft scenes and deepest soulful house for the ambient techno predator R&S and its Apollo, Generations and Global Cuts sub-labels across the mid-to-late 90s. Quietly and confidently some of the most beautiful house music ever made. So it’s a thrill to announce the Universo EP today on Short Span, and to say that he’s still making incredible new dance music in his studio. This is the first Mr. YT record of brand new material in twenty eight years. The lushness springs forth as delightfully as ever. The inspirations of Detroit chords floating and interacting with a certain kind of Japanese plasticity and futurism. Crystal clear blue skies, sweet perfume and space race optimism, touched with a gentle wistfulness. The four tracks are each as beautiful and intricately deep musically as they are colourful and buoyed by energy. Ready to delight you. Universo has some new purpose and drive up front, designed and deployed as his most propulsive dance music as Mr. YT. The tempo is taken up, and tracks frequently break out into virtuosic melody that dances across the pieces. Yuji’s talent for composition that hits as hard as it effortlessly glides hasn’t lost its edge in the quarter century plus break.

Will HOFBAUER - Glepp EP (MEMBERS ONLY PAINTING CLUB)
Australian-born, London-based producer Will Hofbauer brings a sound weaponising playful, wobbling sound design against serious dancefloor intent. ‘Glepp’ is characteristically self-released: and its wiggling wiles (also including ‘Piggies’, ‘The Gourd’ and ‘Flapjacks’) were apparently some time coming, the artist himself going out of his way to thank people for their patience about the A1. The track’s been working its way through DJ and radio sets long enough to generate anticipation, generating the a kind of proximity-effect familiarity and hype for those with their feet on the exclusives pulse; through its sparse, cold but joyous skeletality, the main track’s got a vaguely Persian feel about it, its lead line sounding like a synth oud.

GLENN UNDERGROUND *track-playing / GE-OLOGY / ANDRÉS / JKRIV - RNT In The D Vol. 2 (RAZOR N TAPE)
Big boi edit biz! Leading on from the huge selling volume 1, the second edition sees RNT predictably enlists an all-star roster of heavyweight editors for a heavy 4 tracker representing artists from their 2026 Movement Detroit event. On the A side Glenn Underground delivers obscure soul heat and Detroit’s own Dez Andrés cooks up a deep and jazzy groover. Representing NYC on the flip GE-OLOGY edits some low-slung funk, and JKriv retweaks a cheeky uptempo Italo stomper. From NYC, to the D, to the galaxy!!!glennunderground

RED RACK’EM - Wonky Bassline Disco Banger (10 Year Anniversary Red Vinyl Edition) (BERGERAC)
In March 2016 Red Rack’em pressed up 300 copies of a record called ‘Wonky Bassline Disco Banger’. It was more than just a quirky title though - it quickly became THE crossover hit of the year. Described as ‘game changing’ by all that heard it pre-release. They were right. The first pressing sold out before it even hit the shops. 2 months later, it was on its third repress. By the end of the year it had sold over 3,000 copies on vinyl. Crowned ‘Record Of The Year’ by multiple record shops. Number 5 in the German club chart. Elton John called it ‘Unbeatable’.

CHAOS IN THE CBD / CALL SUPER / VARIOUS ARTISTS - Ten Years Of Gala LP (GALA RECORDS)
Ten Years of GALA is both an archive and a horizon: a reflection on where GALA has come from, and a signal of what lies ahead.
Founded in 2016 as a one-day gathering in South London, GALA has grown into a global point of reference for dancers, artists and collectives drawn together by a shared commitment to independence, collaboration and underground music culture. Rather than charting success through scale alone, the festival has consistently prioritised integrity, community and musical curiosity – values that underpin this release.
Spanning fifteen tracks, Ten Years of GALA unfolds as a considered journey. It opens with an intimate spoken contribution from Charlie Dark, grounding the compilation firmly in GALA’s home of Peckham before gradually expanding outward into fuller, club-focused terrain. From there, the record moves between moods and tempos, tracing a path from reflective moments into the physical language of the dancefloor.
