Mia recommends: Attention Seeking Behaviour by Aea Varfis-van Warmelo

A fascinating blend of fiction and non-fiction; I wish there was more like it! Attention Seeking Behaviour (great name) follows a compulsive liar as she floats through life, unfulfilling jobs, an starts to date Normal Ben (another great name). Her narrative is interwoven with a brilliantly written critical history of lie detection, raising questions about the shaky foundations of what we take as “true”. Somehow both the most unreliable narrator you’ll ever meet and the most truthful.

What exactly would history have looked like if we had remembered our goddesses with the same respect and influence as our gods?

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of hosting for the sold-out launch of her debut book ‘No Fair Maidens’.

A night of live folk music, insanely interesting conversation with interviewer Minna Salami and general goddess good vibes.

It’s with a yummy twist. 🍻

We’re beyond stoked to be stocking ***rbrewing - the UK’s first q***r and trans-owned brewery, based up the road by the marshes on Argall Way.

We have a Pilsner and a Hazy Pale (perhaps the most delicious beer to have ever blessed Ben’s taste buds) to be enjoyed in the sunshine out front or taken-away to enjoy wherever you see fit.

Last week’s … if you come in tomorrow the books will be even newer and Phlox-ier🤟
