New in our window at Travis & Emery today - a beautiful silk programme produced for a State Performance by Royal Command at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. This prestigious gala was held in honour of the Coronation of King George the Fifth and Queen Mary on Monday 26 June 1911.

The event showcased elite international artists performing for the British Royal family. It featured extracts from operas by Verdi, Gunoud and Rossini together with the ‘Pantomime ballet’ by Benois, Le Pavillion d’Armide.

Performers included renowned opera singers Mlle. Destinn, Mme. Melba, Mme. Tetrazzini, and stars of the Russian Ballet Vaslav Nijinsky and Tamara Karsavina.

Today is Mozart’s 270th birthday! Join in the celebrations! 💥🎶💥

We are lucky enough to have this blue plaque a few doors down from Travis & Emery (No. 9 Cecil Court). This is where the 8 year old musical genius, Mozart, lived and composed music in 1764 while touring.

We have some beautiful Mozart scores at the moment. Do send me a DM if anything has caught your eye.

Thought I’d let you all know when we are open over the holidays. Do pop in or contact us if you’d like help finding a Christmas present for a loved one (or yourself ♥️).

We will be shutting at 2.30pm today (Monday 8 December) and we will be closed all day tomorrow (Tuesday 9 December) but otherwise we are open 11am-7pm Monday - Saturday until Christmas Eve.
