Happy Volunteer's Week!

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who make FRP what it is – our volunteers. 💚

Our Green Champions = Volunteers at the heart of everything we do, helping us support both the environment and our local community. Your dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm inspire us every day, and we are so grateful for the time and energy you give.

Whether you’ve just joined us or have been volunteering for years, thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’re creating positive change, reducing waste, and building stronger communities.

Volunteering doesn’t just make a difference to the world around us - it can also boost wellbeing, build confidence, develop new skills, and even open doors to new career opportunities.

Interested in getting involved? We'd love to hear from you!

Have you heard the news?
We’re delighted to be taking part in the Walthamstow Art Trail 2026!

We’re proud to present the inspiring photography of Joanne Segars from her ongoing project Leftovers, documenting the story of our team and our much-loved initiative- Paint it Green.

Paint it Green showcases FRP’s mission to build a greener and more inclusive community through reclaiming, repurposing, and affordably re-selling leftover paint. Joanne’s photographs follow the journey of donated paint - from council recycling centres, through processing in our warehouse, to finding a new life in homes and community projects. Instead of becoming waste and being incinerated, the paint becomes part of the circular economy, helping reduce environmental harm while supporting local people.

We will also be exhibiting the wonderful work created by our textile mentor Penny and participants from our Patch & Repurpose workshops. At FRP, we believe reuse and repair are not only about reducing waste, but also about bringing people together and sharing practical skills. Through our workshops, participants learn how to transform old textiles into something new, useful, and beautiful - and this year, we’re excited to showcase their creations.

We invite you to visit our shop at 2C Bakers Avenue over two special weekends to explore these beautiful photographs and handmade pieces.

What is the Walthamstow Art Trail?

We’re on the lookout for a retail volunteer to join our team every Saturday from 10am–2:30pm at our Bakers Avenue shop.

You’ll be chatting with customers, helping organise stock, getting hands-on with reclaimed materials, and supporting a local environmental charity making a real impact in Waltham Forest 🌱

No experience needed — just reliability, good people skills, and willingness to get stuck in.

✨ Hear directly from our mentors Penny and Greg

Please note: the presentation will begin at 11am.

✨ We’re excited to introduce our new textile workshop: Patch & Repurpose – Next Stitch!

This 10-week journey is all about learning how to mend and reimagine textiles in a relaxed, supportive space.

Have you been wanting to start mending but don’t know where to begin? Maybe you feel like you’re “not creative,” or you’d simply love to learn alongside others in a friendly, welcoming environment - this workshop is for you.

Through hands-on sessions, you’ll explore visible mending techniques, creative upcycling, and simple textile projects you can continue at home. Along the way, you’ll build practical sewing skills, grow your creative confidence, and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of making in a social, encouraging group.

No experience needed - just curiosity!
