I’ve had a few new followers of late (thank you all) and so I I thought I would share a bit more about what I do at Lettering By Skate! ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Everything I create utilises my calligraphy in some way, shape or form meaning that everything I produce is completely unique. There are a few different parts to what I do:⠀⠀⠀⠀

- I create bespoke calligraphy commissions. These can be a quote, a poem, a collection of meaningful words, perhaps some names and dates, anything that can be written.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- I’m a huge fan of writing letters and sending handwritten greetings in the post so I design greetings cards, notecards and other stationery items to help people join me in the beauty of snail mail.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Last but by no means least I design and create wedding and event stationery. I know that event stationery can sound very grand but can actually take many forms; place names or menus for a small family gathering, personalised gift tags for christmas/birthdays, thank you cards after a special event, as always the options are only limited by your imagination!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

{Kind words} It cannot be stressed enough how important reviews like this are for small businesses. In a world where people have literally thousands of options as to where they buy their product from, to be able to share authentic, real life feedback from existing customers is invaluable.

It doesn’t cost anything and will leave you with a heart warming glow whilst also making that small business owner do a little happy dance, win win. What’s not to love?

They have remained my favourite (although I am also obsessed with my birthday wrapping paper!) and I love that people are still discovering them in my shop and hopefully enjoy using them or gifting them to others as much as I do! ✍🏻

{Kind Words} It’s very easy for me to waffle on about how lovely my cards are, but I would say that wouldn’t I. What you really need to read are reviews from those lovely folk who have already taken the plunge and purchased something from me. Well my friends, your wish is my command!

One of the benefits of writing cards and letters is that it naturally broadens your vocabulary. In a world where we increasingly rely on emojis to convey our thoughts and feelings (not often successfully!), putting pen to paper and using words to express ourselves rather than tiny pictures naturally encourages us to reach into the deepest recesses of our minds to find the right phrase. I love learning new words and am constantly dipping into my thesaurus to find the perfect one for what I want to say.

This is a new word for me today, sums me up perfectly I think.

So here’s a question for you? Do you use a thesaurus?
