Long read:
When I started String Ting in lockdown 2020, it was a surprise how quickly it took off. What began as a beaded lemonade stand with my kids to raise money for frontline workers turned into a global seven-figure business in just four years. It’s been like flying at Mach speed, only looking forward. I used to wonder how long the love for our Tings would last, and, honestly, I still wake up thinking it will all end tomorrow (founder paranoia—keeps you sharp, I swear).

I’ve always believed in the positive energy of our beads and designs, but I knew the biggest threat wasn’t a trend or competition—it was tiny. The little hole for the volume switch on iPhone cases, where our Tings found their home. And then… what if that hole disappeared?

For years, we thrived, adorning phones everywhere. But then, at an Apple Keynote, my worst fear materialized. The iPhone 15: no hole. The switch was now… a button. A BUTTON.

F*CK.

I realized I had about a year before this change could disrupt my business. So, I worked fast, first perfecting the metal phone strap card (which I can proudly say is the best out there), but I knew I needed more. A total lewk. A solution where the strap and case worked perfectly together.

That’s how I ended up diving into the world of phone cases—an industry with fierce competition and brands with funds way bigger than mine. But, as with all things Ting, I don’t make cheap sh*t. If I was going to do this, it had to be the highest quality possible.

After months of research, I partnered with a dream manufacturer (who makes for some of the biggest brands in the world). Their quality is unbeatable, and the women I’ve worked with in China have been incredible. Together, after countless design tweaks, I can proudly say we’ve created something special: Case Tings.

These cases are designed to fit seamlessly with our beads and phone card, spark joy with our kawaii illustrations, and, most importantly, protect your phone in style.
