"I first walked into the Novello Theatre in 1986. My mum, Grazina Frame, was playing Fräulein Kost in the Gillian Lynne production of Kander and Ebb's, Cabaret, with Wayne Sleep as Emcee. I went to stage school at the time and would beg her to take me into work with her in the evenings. Ironically, I was studying acting and singing at Redroofs Theatre School, which is situated in Berkshire at the country home of Ivor Novello. What are the chances?"

“If you work in theatre and you’re wandering around this showbiz ghetto you are never more than 300 metres away from a welcoming stage door, or bumping into an industry colleague and sharing a memory of when you last worked together. The theatres are all landmarks. Ask any theatrical where something is in the West End and you are likely to hear, “Go past Les Mis, turn left at Harry Potter, and it’s on the right just past Mary Poppins.” To many of us the car park below the Gillian Lynne Theatre is still referred to as the Cats car park.”

“Simply put, the London Coliseum was the most thrilling theatre in which I have ever played. It seemed impossibly immense when I first walked out onto the empty stage sometime in early March 2016. We had started studio rehearsals for a revival of Andrew Lloyd Webbers’s Sunset Boulevard. While I tried to not feel monstrously intimidated, I was informed that there are very few seats that didn’t have a good view of the stage. I was also told that, even though it is a vast auditorium, it feels amazingly intimate from the stage. Though it was hard to believe at the time, eventually, I found both statements to be true.”
