🦘🐨🦘Yesterday was Australia Day, and I want to take a moment to honour the breathtaking natural beauty of this country. I also acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, their deep connection to its lands, waters, and culture, and the incredible wisdom they’ve shared about nurturing it.
While Australia Day marks the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, it’s also a day of reflection. For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it’s a painful reminder of colonisation, dispossession, and cultural loss—which is why it’s often referred to as “Invasion Day.” It’s so important to recognise and respect this history as we celebrate what makes this land so special.
As you know, the natural world is our biggest inspiration here at Another Studio.
I’ve been lucky enough to experience Australia’s unique biodiversity firsthand—from the towering karri trees to the charming quokkas of Rottnest Island. Australia truly is a land like no other, and I’m constantly in awe of the flora and fauna that call it home.
Swipe through to see some of my favourite wildlife moments in WA. Don’t worry, there are no spiders in this carousel! ~Amelia :) 💚
