Just over 4 years ago was hand painting our beautiful sign and I was stood wondering why one of our second hand fridges was making such loud noises! And then 4 years ago today we opened. Happy Birthday Deli! A huge amount has changed in 4 years, the fridge no longer exists, but the sign still hangs proudly outside the deli and I still question whether purveyor was the right word to use.
I don’t question whether we made the right decision to open though. To be honest, despite the ups and downs, it’s the best job I’ve ever had. This is always a day of reflection for me, and I think about today how many wonderful customers we have and how we’ve been fortunate enough to become part of your lives over these 4 years. We’ve see families grow, children start school, first words, first babycinos, we’ve see new faces move to the area, and sadly sometimes dear customers and friends leave to start new lives and new adventures elsewhere. We don’t take it lightly what a privilege it is to be part of this community and part of your lives and we will always do our best to offer you a welcoming smile and a place you feel at home.
Today I am personally recommitting to the deli and to the community. We will continue to be here for as many years as you want us, and we will continue to work hard to improve and offer something new, whilst always keeping our core the same. Merry Christmas to all our customers old and new. We adore you.
