Christmas season approaching ! It always means a lot of excitement, wishes, hot chocolate and … frustration

It is the time of the year when people would buy ugly random something and give it to others as a fake sign of care. Why fake ? Because if one would care enough to carefully listen to the other, they would know exactly what that person would like to receive as a present.

Not only it is harmful to the budget, does not bring much of excitement but also is bad for the environment

The solution that would make everyone happy is to make a wish list and let your friends and family know that you have one. Try composing it of items with different price tags so there is something that everyone could afford.

We also suggest to make a “Not So Wish List” with items that would bring more frustration than joy and share it with your loved once. For us, surprisingly, the worst present is a paper cover book - we do prefer electronic or audio versions since they don’t occupy space and don’t sit there to collect dust.

Not too long ago, Aika was a hospitality professional working in Central London.

In our workshop she is the administrative fairy. Responsible for managing our shop and communication with our clients, Aika is always trying her best to deliver the highest level of customer service.

Balto is our fluffy companion, and is responsible for the cuteness, love and fluff in our studio.

A true team player by nature, Balto never leaves our side. His favourite part of the day is to sit on Cristina’s lap while she is battling with the sewing machine. Balto is not afraid of the sewing equipment and likes to take a nap in the middle of the working day.

Cristina is a professional designer. In Hot Pie Craft she is responsible for the product development and turning our creative ideas into reality.

Business is not for ladies ?

Being the “girls team”, we often find ourselves asking the question if starting our own business is something we will be able to pull off. To help everyone cheer up and keep up the team spirit, we are sharing our top tips !

💗 Importance of Days Off and Holidays
When starting your own business, we often get overworked without even realising it. You keep on thinking about your products, design , production, packaging and all the other hundred things you need to do that you could find yourself mentally exhausted.
Here at Hot Pie Craft we are trying to stick to at least 1 day off a week, when we are not talking about work, and not touching the sewing machine ( although it is very hard because sewing is also our hobby )

💗 Remember why you started
Do you remember that day when you finally decided to take the leap of faith and opened your own shop // cafe // restaurant // company ? Why you did it?

Was it because you wanted to share your vision with he world? Or you wanted to be your own boss and do things how you think is the best ?

Whatever might be your reason, when hitting a rockbottom it is extremely important to sit back and to remember why you started.

💗 Reach out for support
Supportive friends and family could be a massive source of extra motivation you are looking for. If at this very moment it is difficult to maintain contact with them, there are loads of internet based groups dedicated to providing support for female entrepreneurs. Check it out !

💗 Find your confidence
Sometimes you could find yourself drowning in all the advices, critiques, reviews and strategies that people are sharing with you.
For situations like that, we are trying to stick to our motto “Do well and it will be well”. We think that there is no standardised recipe for success and we all are on the way to finding our own unique path.

💗Friends and Bubbles
When we feel like nothing is working and everything is out of control - our personal advice is to put on the best dress you have, schedule a dinner with a good friend and have some bubbles. Giggles and good mood guaranteed :)
