I am a Direct Access barrister based in London - that means I can offer the same services you can get from a firm solicitors but, as my overheads are much less and you cut out the middleman (a solicitor) by instructing me directly, my fees are a fraction than if you go to a firm of solicitors. If you are facing a court hearing you can speak to me from the start (initial advice is free) and you will deal with me until your case is concluded in court - you deal with me from start to finish - you are not faced with a barrister you have never met before representing you in court. Although based in London, I will travel to any court in the country.

Check your car insurance. Many insurance companies are altering fully comprehensive car insurance policies so that they do not cover commuting to work or, even if your policy does cover commuting, it may say ‘to a permanent place of work’ so that could mean that if you use your car to travel to/from work you could be prosecuted for driving without insurance. I am currently helping a young woman, who works for a care company, therefore, travels to different clients whom the Police are prosecuting for no insurance despite the fact that she had fully comprehensive insurance which covered her to commute to/from ‘permanent’ place of work. I have previously helped clients whom the Police have prosecuted for no insurance, having stopped them driving to work, despite the having paid for fully comprehensive cover so my advice is check your fully comprehensive car insurance covers you to drive to/from work.
