I honestly thought it would be along the lines of ‘so what happened to that Jesus guy at the end’… but I hope I’ve not ruined it for anyone else 😑

It didn’t end as we planned… as we should be in Whistable this morning, getting back to Reculver Towers and walking into Whitstable (or just spending the day in Whistable - am I spelling it right). But we checked into our hotel and there was a wedding party going on in a marquee on the lawn… when I asked if it was a wedding the dude said it would finish at 10pm and showed us to our rooms. It wasn’t a nice room and was hot and with the windows open I could hear the dfff dfff dfff of the music in full swing and thought if that music stops at 10 there’s gonna be a lot of merry people hanging about this place and this room is just not the kinda place I want to be feeling miserable - for various reasons I can’t do earplugs and I sort of think I shouldn’t have to - if I’d known there was going to be a wedding I wouldn’t have booked. So we sat down for about 60 seconds, got back up and left. I was home at 7pm and freaked TF out of my husband who got home at 8pm (I like to keep him on his toes 😁). The holiday was a dream. I’ve not spent any significant time with my eldest for many years and it was so special to just rub along like old friends reconnecting. An old friend who turns into a DEMON at the bananagrams table… seriously, a fu***ng demon 😆 Other than the trudge back on ourselves for missing a ‘dead end’ sign and the leaving earlier than planned it was pretty damned perfect. And I think walking 43 miles in five days is a pretty solid result.

Ffs 🤦 I thought I’d won 😆😆😆😆

Meet Lisa. As raven headed as I was fair and my firmest friend from the moment she literally said ‘do you want to be my friend’ when we were little through my first ever flight abroad to her grandparent’s place in Spain when we were 11 to always making my way to her mum’s fridge because she had butter (instead of the yucky margarine my mum preferred). Lisa took the photo of me and my boyfriend looking like little hippies with a Tower Records bag in Ravenscourt Park and she used to literally massage me to sleep when I had a bit of a nervous breakdown in our 20s. We lost touch for decades and met last week for a seven hour chat 😁. Boyfriend took this photo on my 18th birthday… the same dude in the hippy photo, the same dude I married who was equally delighted to catch up with her last week. Old friends just get you (I have an old school friend who will see this post - my kids say that NO-ONE speaks to me the way she does… they think it’s hilarious, I think it’s comforting familiarity).

It was left in a house in Blackheath. Westcombe Park Road to be more precise and the previous owner’s name was Olive Hancock - we’re talking 1964 that it came into my husband’s parent’s possession. It’s an absolute thing of beauty. Any information gratefully received. Please share far and wide!! What is it? What’s it for? Would a particular library or museum be interested?
