Hello 👋 Instagram…. After 4 years and a journey full of love, winging it, raising baby chaos and ultimately failure, it’s with sadness that we announce we are closing Akwa Baby down this month.
We’ll create a video soon with the whole family to say our goodbyes, but in the meantime THANK YOU SO MUCH for being a part of Akwa Baby ❤️

Ogo: “Going back to my roots.
This photo brings back memories, I think I was same age as my son now, 5years old, I think it was a family holiday. We went to connect with where my parents were from. It was first time I had ever been in a place full of people that looked like me.
Seeing people speak the language my mum was always speaking to us and eating the foods my mum always cooked at home.
Everything was different back in England, the way people lived, spoke walked dressed etc. I was grateful to see from my trip to Nigeria, even at that young age, a different way of self expression.

This print design, shown on our organic cotton tee, was created by Nigerian Artist who also created our Mustard Seed print you’ll see on the Zion dungarees (swipe!) we are so inspired by our children and their persistence to learn everything, this East African proverb is one of our absolute favourites 💛
