embroidery is very popular in Kashmir and Kashmiri artisans have been practising it since almost 500 years. It is a type of needlepoint embroidery and uses silk threads on a pashmina (cashmere) base.
It is exceptionally fine and delicate and the end result is breathtakingly beautiful.
