Happy New Year everyone! 💫
I’ve not been sharing as much over the last few months after announcing I was winding down my cake business. As of today, One More Slice is no longer taking orders! Although it is a sad day, it’s also really happy and the start of a new chapter for me. I have loved baking both full and part time over 2021 and now it’s time to stop. Baking is a hard living to make, especially when you’re a one woman band. It’s so much fun but it just wasn’t sustainable for me and I’m going to be taking it back to being a hobby again.
It would be easy to think I’ve failed in closing down, but I actually look back on last year as a massive success! I didn’t want to be starting 2022 thinking how I wished I’d taken the risk, and now I’ll never have what ifs or regrets about taking the plunge. I’m so pleased I did it! Not only have my skills improved massively but I’ve also met some amazing people who have become regulars and even friends through this. I’ve also got to make cakes for important events and occasions like weddings, christenings and birthday parties. I also know my cakes have helped bring joy in lockdown, often being sent as gifts to key workers still working through the hardest times. That’s bloody awesome!
Thank you SO much to anyone who has liked my page, bought from me, recommended me to a friend or even just liked a post. It’s all been so appreciated and I couldn’t have done it without you!
