Arty Charli has taken recycling to a WHOLE new level!

Meet Cardboard Creations — the wonderfully imaginative little business where cardboard gets a seriously glamorous second life!

Charli is a very talented art teacher who transforms humble cardboard packaging into incredible 3D sculptures, wreaths and decorations. Every piece is handmade, completely bespoke and packed with personality.

Charli LOVES creating 3D art, and it absolutely shows in her work. Who knew cardboard could be this fabulous?!

Today’s new arrivals are Gladys the chicken and a gorgeous vase of flowers. Both made entirely from cardboard and both guaranteed to make you look twice!

Forget the recycling bin… Cardboard Creations is where cardboard goes to become ART. ❤️

Our Steampunk window display is officially in place… and things have got gloriously weird! 🖤

We’re getting ready for the Steampunk Weekend at Asylum, and our windows are packed with all sorts of wonderful, curious and slightly eccentric treasures. Gears, goggles, gadgets, vintage finds, curiosities and plenty of things you definitely didn’t know you needed!

And because Steampunk Weekend deserves a little extra shopping time, we’re EXTENDING our opening hours!

Apparently, it’s Young Entrepreneur Day here at the shop! ❤️

My daughter Ella (12) absolutely COULDN’T WAIT to get in for her morning shift. I may… MAY… have shown her a few photos of George’s stand see Pre-Loved From Lincolnshire ) , so let’s be honest, she was probably more excited about shopping in George’s shop than actually working in mine! 😂

After tidying the toys and doing a few jobs, she was straight over to the till, scanning her purchases and proudly paying for them herself.

The total? £9.

The amount she put through the card machine? £10.

She had £10 literally BURNING a hole in her bank account and apparently decided that exact £10 needed to be spent. No change required. Still an absolute bargain!

The maths lesson clearly needs a little more work… but the entrepreneurship? Absolutely nailed it.

Sarah Bennett Illustration has joined us, and honestly… we’re rather smitten! 💙

Sarah is a local printmaker and illustrator from Caistor, she drives a Triumph (obviously this is very important information), and she has brought along a fabulous collection of her gorgeous lino prints.

Now, I’m not sure whether shopkeepers are allowed to have favourites… but I’m going to risk it!

Meet my favourite: The Little Mermaid

Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but it has whisked me straight back to my lovely solo trip to Copenhagen last summer. So basically, I’m emotionally attached to a lino print now.
