I’ve just added this vellum bound, signed, limited, deluxe edition of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice to my website, priced at £50. Whilst it is a perfectly good book as it is, there are some aesthetic issues. As such, it would make a great project for rebinding. I was so taken by the illustrations in this vintage children’s book that I thought I’d share them with you. It is called ‘Dormouse Awake’ by Eileen Soper, who is best known for illustrating books by Enid Blyton, most notably The Famous Five series. As with many of the books that I have added to my website today, the illustrations are particularly lovely and not necessarily what you’d expect when you first pick up the book. I hope you enjoy them.
