Sad to see a well established stall coming to a close in Chorley. Some of our customers use Derek's Books so this is just to let them know he won’t be there in the future👇

As I have had no credible inquiries about taking the stall over, I have to announce that the stall will cease trading on Thursday 10th September due to my retirement.

The next two weeks in August will run as usual selling and part-exchanging, but obviously buying books in will be very restricted.

The first two weeks in September (closing on September 10th) will be a general clearance sale and I will no longer be accepting books for exchange.

Chorley.
August 18th, 25th.
September 1st, 8th.

Garstang.
August 20th, 27th.
September 3rd, 10th.

Puzzle magazines will continue to be sold as normal until the last week when they will hopefully be transferred to other stalls at both Chorley and Garstang.

If I could please ask people to share this post to let as many people know, I would be grateful.

An update on part of the Leyland Town Deal project.

Quin Street Development

The Quin Street housing development is now substantially complete.
Installation of the new pedestrian bridge remains outstanding due to unforeseen ground conditions.
The Quin Street car park has been completed, including the installation of dedicated parking bollards for Balfour Court tenants.

Leyland Market and Commercial Phase

The structural steel frames for both the Commercial A and North Works buildings have been fully erected.
Concrete floor slabs have been completed on the first and second floors of the North Works building.
The existing market roof has been successfully removed and replaced with a new roof structure.
Installation of structural steelwork to form the new internal market stalls is currently underway.
The project is currently progressing one week ahead of programme.
