💚True beauty from an incredible lady

In 1984, Dolly Parton underwent a partial hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis complications, ending her private hope of having children.

She was thirty-eight years old, at the absolute height of her entertainment career, when the sudden medical emergency forced her into a deep, painful recovery. In the quiet months that followed, her husband Carl Dean stayed right by her side, helping her navigate severe depression and the grief of facing an empty nursery.

Years later, she chose to channel that unresolved ache into something that could reach far beyond her own living room.

In 1995, inspired by her father who had never learned to read, Dolly founded the Imagination Library in Sevier County, Tennessee. The program began by mailing one free, high-quality book each month to local children from birth to age five.

What started inside a single Appalachian county grew across state lines and eventually spanned five countries, mailing more than two hundred million books to young families.

She never had children of her own, yet millions of kids grew up finding her books waiting in their mailboxes each month. The early local deliveries, the quiet support from Carl Dean, and the logistics that turned a small mountain initiative into an international effort remain a remarkable chapter in her life.

🧡These beautiful agates were collected by my brother in law from Angus coast.

They are collected then polished in a tumbler and some are made into jewellery by a local jeweller. They make beautiful rings and necklaces some of which we have had in stock and may have again in the future.

They are also for sale singly from him @ Kirk Wynd Highland House A lot of work goes into them and how beautiful are they? 🥰
