Today is International Granny Square Day! 🧶🧶🧶
We love granny squares. They are the corner stone of crochet - endlessly versatile, they can be giant, made with a single colour changing yarn or tiny, using up every last scrap of leftovers. They work in every fibre and every thickness, and there are all kinds of variations out there. The humble granny square is also perfect for learning crochet, and fantastically portable too….you’ll never be bored waiting if you can sit and make a little granny square ☺️

We want to say a fantastic WELL DONE to everyone who entered the crochet classes at the Cunningsburgh show today! 👏👏👏 This was the first year of Loose Ends sponsoring these classes and there were some beautiful, imaginative and very well made entries. We look forward to welcoming the prize winners in store to spend your well-deserved gift vouchers 😊

She made it!! Occasionally a customer will come in with a mildly bonkers project idea and we are only too happy to help try and make that a reality. Yesterday afternoon, a wonderful lady came in to the shop, needing green yarn and a pompom because she “needed to knit a hat for a vegetable” for the next day. She was also going to teach herself to knit that night in order to achieve this. Well, friends, here is that hat, atop a superb and trophy-winning entry at the Cunningsburgh show earlier today! Well done!! 👏👏👏

We are very very excited to bring in the brand new sock yarn from Yorkshire company World of Wool!
The Wanderer is made of 80% British Wool and 20% recycled nylon - designed for socks, but also perfectly suitable as a (gently) washable 4ply and jumper weight alternative.
We looooooove the intricate heathered colours and very sound care instructions 🧶☕️🍪
The first 9 colours are available in store now….come and discover them before Estelle takes them all home!
