IMPORTANT – SHOP OPENING TODAY

We owe a few of you an apology this morning.

Lauren had booked today off with Lucy, but unfortunately it wasn’t put into the diary, and we’ve only just realised that the shop currently isn’t open.

We’ve dropped the ball here, and for anyone who has tried to get into the shop over the last hour, we’re really sorry. We know that simply isn’t good enough.

Martin is out on measurements for the majority of today, but we’re currently trying to arrange cover to get the shop open as soon as possible.

We’ll update the page as soon as we know more.

Apologies again to anyone we’ve inconvenienced this morning.

WE’RE MORE THAN JUST A CARPET SHOP 👊

A recent job completed at a school in Manchester using Polyflor Wood FX commercial safety flooring — and the finished result looks spot on. 👌

We just wish we had the before pictures to show you what was hiding underneath the old floor… unfortunately Liam was too busy sorting the absolute mess out to remember to take any. 😂

The original plan was simple: uplift the old commercial carpet, reboard the floor and fit the new safety flooring.

That plan quickly went out the window.

As the old carpet came up, it was bringing the existing plyboard with it — along with chunks of the concrete subfloor underneath.

So we had to completely change course. The new ply we’d ordered went back into stock, every loose and damaged section was removed, then the entire floor was properly primed and screeded to create the smooth, solid base we needed.

Then the Polyflor Wood FX went down — and this is the result. 👌

Just a reminder that despite the name, The Little Carpet Shop does a lot more than carpets.

Well… it looks like the sunshine has clocked off, and the Great British rain has decided it quite fancies the rest of the summer holidays. ☔🌦️

Yet another stair runner completed by Matt… everyone seems to have gone runner mad lately!

One trend we’re definitely seeing more of is customers choosing a full-width runner rather than leaving a painted gap down each side of the staircase. We think it’s a great shout. You still get all the character and style of a runner, but with a fuller, softer look that really suits a lot of homes.

Finished with the same attention to detail as always, this is another staircase that’s been completely transformed.

Which do you prefer – the traditional narrow runner with exposed edges, or the full-width runner? We have to say, we’re big fans of both, but this style is becoming a real favourite.

Well… trust our luck. 🤦‍♂️

Today was the day we had to move all of our flooring samples outside while the new wall panelling is being fitted in the shop…

…and for the first time in what feels like weeks (or even months), the heavens have absolutely opened. 🌧️

So, whichever one of our competitors saw our earlier post with all of our samples outside and decided to do a rain dance… congratulations, it worked! 😂

Now if you could kindly pack it in, we’d really appreciate it. ☔🤣

Either that, or someone sacrificed a roll of underlay to the weather gods…

Just a quick update from The Little Carpet Shop.

Unfortunately, we’ve cracked the screen on our office mobile, so we’re in the process of getting it repaired today or, at the latest, tomorrow.

We’re sorting a backup phone in the meantime, but our WhatsApp chats and emails won’t transfer across straight away, so we may be a little slower than usual responding to messages.
