The Government have got this very wrong by demonising the legitimate v**e industry and its adult users, 5m of us, 5m that stand a chance of not presenting to the NHS with lung cancer. The cost to the NHS currently stands at 3 BILLION PER YEAR and up to £920,000 per individual case.
The solution to deal with the problem has been presented to the Government for 6 years! Licence the V**e Retailers and Distributors, 99% of the issues talked about go away overnight.
Successive Governments have stripped public services to the point there is nobody left to do the work around enforcement, the result is public anger and local authority panic around the likes of Candy Corner in a small Leicestershire Village where the BBC tracked down a convicted people smuggler trading out of two so called v**e shops. One right next door to the elected Conservative MP. The politicians all pretend to be outraged by what happened in the local community when it was right under their noses for years, and they were told, several times by everyone it was a problem. It was the BBC that exposed them not the authorities.
How many Euro Mini Marts and Convivence style shops have popped up selling v**es and energy drinks to literally anyone that will buy them. Yet there is no enforcement in place to deal with it. Then as a pure deflection and distraction of rightful criticism of a total lack of government action, the Government Tar the whole V**e Industry with the same brush and totally undermine the work it’s taken to get 5m adult v**ers away from smoking and make it hard for those adults to continue va**ng +£2.20 tax excluding VAT from October.
Now they want flavours banned, liquids behind closed doors and heavy taxation. If it was that much of an issue to them why look to make millions from taxing the product under the guise of save the children. I’ll tell you how to save the children, remove va**ng products from all outlets that are not dedicated, licenced and regulated outlets.
