It has been a long time since I posted here as I have committed to living in South America to experience the land, people behind cacao and to delve deeper into new varieties of cacao. Learn traditional production techniques and making real relationships with farmers who share the same values & ethics of regenerative farming.
💫 ARHUACO COMMUNITY ✨
During the Spanish invasion, a lot of ancient knowledge was lost as it became demonised and considered heresy to practise and work with nature.

The Arhuaco and Kogi tribes migrated high up into the mountainous area of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta away from outside influences and retained much of their ancestral wisdom which they still live by today.

The cultivation of cacao provides a source of income for the tribe and has now become a symbol of peace in juxtaposition to the violence of illegal *coca farming.

The farmers and surrounding communities are able to reconnect with the ancestral wisdom of honoring the land by growing heirloom cacao trees which helps to increase and regenerate biodiversity in the area as they grow alongside the other wildlife.
