Leeds Steampunk Market

Leeds Steampunk Market LSM is back to hosting 5 weekend markets a year. These are in March, May, July, October & a festive one in December or late November.

Plus random social days out! ABOUT US

We are a more intimate, personal event and keep our traders all within the one location, not spread out across a whole town or city. We stay within the realms of our capabilities as we are an independent setup so we just run a day time event, five weekends a year, both days of the weekend, no more than fifty traders each day and a small amount of entertainmen

t. The entertainment is enough to keep the customers around and interested but not too much to take them away from the traders who have, after all, paid for pitches to make money! We keep our pitch fees as affordable as possible to allow smaller traders an opportunity. LSM are not curated events although we do invite traders, artists and authors that are the best in their respective fields and try to avoid duplication where possible. We'll never ask for an "application to be considered to trade" at LSM events. Basically, if we like your stuff or see a busy market for it, and think you can sell it - we'll invite you. The moment you say yes, you're in (well, as long as you get your pitch paid before someone else does!)

Flyer design redone to fit into the required dimensions for the newspaper advert.
This will be in the Yorkshire Evening Post on Thursday 16th July.
I can't get hold of a copy though as I live in Bradford, the newspaper distributors don't stock it so if anyone can pick up a copy for me please let me know (pm to Jo Dee Burgoyne-Neal).
Thanks!

Hi everyone!!
A huge thank you to everyone who attended LSM's return visit to Bradford Industrial Museum over the weekend - traders, shoppers, visitors, entertainers, friends, family and especially the museum staff.
The final numbers for the footfall over the weekend was 748.
A split of roughly 55% Saturday, 45% Sunday (Sunday was more families). The mananger confirmed this was a substantial increase compared to the previous weekend or the same weekend last year so thank you again to everyone that made it along.
I'll just need to clear my Bradford details and numbers and get my spreadsheet prepared to start again for July at Middleton Railway.
The first batch of emails will be going out by the end of this week to get pitches booked for Middleton Railway for 18th and 19th July. I can see lots in my inbox already so if you're interested please email [email protected] - don't comment on here or the event or pm me as Fb is a nightmare to keep track of communication!
All feedback is welcome (by comment or pm) and I would love to add some fresh comments to the Testimonials section of the website. If you took photos, please post a link below to a public album so that everyone can enjoy them!

A business announcement as LSM and Cumberpatch have now had a bit of a rebrand. LSM's name has changed slightly so I needed to redo the logo so I thought - why not do new logos for both?!
And seeing as it's my birthday - I'm giving you a heftier discount than usual as a gift from me to you ๐Ÿ™‚ on the Captain Cumberpatch's Curious Creations website.
Not 10%, not even 20% - seeing as I'm 60 today, how about a whopping great 40% OFF!! (So you're paying only 60% of the usual price - please keep up ๐Ÿ™‚ )
It'll run from today up to and including 10th June (60 days), applies across all items, minimum spend of ยฃ10. Enter the code BIRTHDAY60 at checkout.
So do please take advantage as this is an offer I can't afford to repeat!!

I'm seeing a lot of posts across all the event groups on here by traders looking for events to fill their diaries for this year.
๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ‡
I run Leeds Steampunk Market which was established in 2011, my events have traders doing not just steampunk but also Victorian, military, gothic, dark and spooky, alternative, handmade, curios, oddities, faery, pagan, LARP, roleplaying, historical, heritage crafts, Sci-Fi, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, geeky, nerdy, comics, gaming, modelling (railway and dolls house), a bit of Boardwalk Empire/Game of Thrones thrown in, alternative (but NOT in a fetish/burlesque way), vintage and antique, (please ensure you follow my weapons policy) and just plain weird, strange, freaky and odd ๐Ÿ’€ โ˜ ๏ธ
My events are always indoors although some venues have space for outdoor traders (museums usually). โ˜‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ›–
All traders must have their own PLI.
Alcohol sellers must have Personal Licence and must trade as an offlicence (take out as sealed bottles etc). The trader will need to apply for a TENS licence from the council. This also applies to any traders selling anything with a bit of alcohol in it.๐Ÿพ
If you sell anything edible or drinkable (even if you don't make it yourself such as cans of pop) your home premises MUST be registered with your local authority as a food trader. This information has come direct from Environmental Health and confirmed by NCASS. [See the Food & drink tab here](https://www.leedssteampunkmarket.co.uk/food-and-drinks-traders.php) for more details on what you should have in place. ๐ŸŽ‚ ๐Ÿฐ
Other products require specific licences/regulations as well such as soap, candles etc which must be complied with. ๐Ÿงผ ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Traders are encouraged to dress up accordingly (or at least make it look like you want to be there!) and do the same with their stall ๐Ÿ™‚
LSM operates only local authority licenced events.
Event attractions (at museums) usually include hot food vendors, vintage tea room, interactive demonstrations & working machinery, a small amount of entertainment every day with a bird of prey flying display & exclusive to LSM - prize winning coffee jousting.
Every event is advertised with at least 1,000 flyers, local press, online & via social media.
If you think your stuff is weird or unusual enough (or just unique!) to fit in, then email me at [email protected]
All event details, prices etc are on the website https://www.leedssteampunkmarket.co.uk/
I'm not on the ball every day with emails so if you don't hear back from me, just drop me a pm on here to chase me up!

I'm attaching the flyers for all the other events I have lined up for this year so please check your diary to see which ones you're interested in.
I'm getting last minute traders booked in for Wakefield in a week's time.

I'm particularly keen to start on the May event :)
I'll be needing to get started on getting traders booked in for that (9th & 10th May) pretty sharpish as that museum is BIG :) I can fit lots more traders in plus it's free admission so we'll have more footfall. It's a lot more work as well, there's room there to have my own tearoom, hot food and barista traders outside, additional entertainment and coffee jousting.

LSM was at Bradford on a regular basis but not been back here since 2019 so this is already looking to be a popular choice!

You can either email me at [email protected] or just message me on here - basics I need to know is which event you're referring to, what day or days on each (as you don't need to do both) and what size your pitch is. That way you'll be in the first emails sent so you won't miss out.
I look forward to hearing from you all soon.
