Due to the demand and the continued denial of access to Gloucester Car Boot's traditional home, we have found a new site very near Ledbury, which will also serve that local Community with a Car Boot following the Closure of the Ledbury Boot at Hazel Meadows last year.

Opening on 3rd April, the new site is open and sunny and well-drained. We will operate here on Sundays at 11:00 throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Seller's from 10:00 to set up. Buyers from 11:00.

Catering and Toilets.

Cars £8, Vans from £10. Buyers £1 [over 16].

Since we also operate Ross Car Boot [6 miles away] which starts at 6 a.m., we will be offering Cut-Price Double-Header Tickets which will enable Sellers to attend both Boots at a discounted Price!!

Gloucester City Council and Councillor Dawn Melvin in particular are calling on its citizens to “Let them know where you want your money spent?”

It’s for the process of setting the City’s Budget for 2021/22.

It’s important for residents to have they say and we suggest that if they spent a small proportion of their huge income in maintaining the bespoke Market Site at Hempsted Meadows GL2 5LE, we might just get our Car Boot back once their use of it as a Testing Station is finished.

If all of the impressive 6,422 people who ‘Like’ and ‘Follow’ Gloucester Car Boot would write to :-

The Hempsted Meadows Car Boot/Market site was developed as a bespoke Market Site in 2007, but has suffered ever since due to a lack of basic maintenance by the Council.

‘The Rule of Six’ Lockdown is a domestic restriction.

It does NOT apply to Events which are ‘COVID Secure’.

It does NOT apply to Open Air Markets. Open Air Markets have NEVER been subject to Lockdown.

Since clarifying the Government’s position on Open Air Markets on 24th March, H M Government and The Chief Medical Officer have maintained that shopping outside in the fresh air is arguably healthier and safer than ANY enclosed Shop or Supermarket.

Our Car Boot COVID Precautions have been inspected and tested by Environmental Health and approved without comment or request for improvement.

We are therefore ‘COVID Secure’ and we will be trading as normal.

• We operate HUGE sites and space the Traders several metres apart
• We provide FREE Hand Sanitiser, FREE Gloves, FREE Temperature Tests and Masks
• We monitor the attendance and limit numbers if our Sites become crowded until folk leave [Our sites are so big, this is rare]
• We provide Toilets with Hand Washing facilities
• We take payments by Credit Card to avoid cash handling
• We ask our Traders to ensure the Stalls observe 1m distancing.
• We suggest everyone wear masks, even though our Sites are public spaces and Masks are NOT Mandatory.

We do all that we can.

Accordingly, we are OPEN as USUAL.
