In addition to our vast selection of local books, we also stock a large range of fiction and non-fiction, as well as guide books, maps, souvenirs, calendars and daily newspapers. If yo

u can't find a title you are looking for, please ask one of the friendly members of our team, either in store, by telephone or via email. If we don't have what you are looking for in stock, we can order books from our supplier and even arrange to have them posted directly to you. If you are in Orkney please pop in, have a browse and say hello. We get daily newspapers too and are even pet friendly! Alice Jane Hamilton will be in the bookshop signing copies of her book 'Finding John Rae' on the 9th September.

Alice is the great-great granddaughter of Dr John Rae's sister. 'Finding John Rae' is a creative non-fiction biography of the celebrated Arctic explorer and begins in 1854 when, on a mapping expedition to the Boothia Peninsula, Rae discovers the missing link in the Northwest Passage.
