It’s been a challenging summer for obvious reasons. Sometimes it makes you wonder should we be doing this? Are flowers necessary? But then you realise yes this is the very thing we all need to be doing cultivating what brings us joy, adapting with the challenges, reducing the need to import food and luxury items. We’re already planning on what we will grow next year and what is ruled out. How to manage the soil, harvest and storing the rain. So yes I do realise there is a point and I hope I can continue to spread joy whilst also treating this small patch of land with care and putting the creatures first over produce.

I will be at the Bloxham Farmers market with my naturally grown flowers on the 29th August and hope to see you there 🙂

A few from the garden recently and my first zinnia!

Some empty beds to fill after harvesting onions, peas, broad beans.

Sweet peas definitely had a short flush this year with the heatwaves and little rainfall. Will miss them for another year!

Any suggestions to plug this gap between flowering as the dahlias and cosmos are not flourishing yet! I think more roses for cutting are on the cards for 2027 as well as sunflowers. Everyone says they’re easy but I never seem to get mine to grow! 😫 maybe there’s something in the garden that likes them!

We have plenty of perennials to include in bouquets including sweet peas but I do miss the scent of the annuals!

Will be getting our first PYO guests in from August to make the most of dahlia and cosmos season. Can’t wait!

Happy Monday

Putting together orders today and being able to place them in the very place they were grown for a picture makes my heart sing.

I love creating each and every one of my orders and feel so happy that each order means I can continue to do this.

Thank you to those who have chosen me to gift to their special someone.

Did you spot the butterfly flying by in the first video?

Here’s how we can all make a difference if we’re lucky enough to have outside space to call our own

This is just a tiny patch of lawn left without mowing for a few weeks. About circumference of a garden table, just look at what wildlife it is attracting, this is what we can see, let alone what we can’t see.

The same patch next to it that has been mown, nothing to see. This is not to say we don’t need or want lawn in our gardens it’s just to show what can grow where you allow it to.

I cannot wait for cosmos season!

Every year I do this I think of something I would have done differently or add but then I forget!
Last year I said I’d direct way more cosmos into the borders but I didn’t. Now I regret that mistake! But we should still have a couple of beds full of them.

Recording on here for my September self who must remember to scatter those seeds!
