🧜‍♀️ International Mermaid Day 🧜‍♀️

International Mermaid Day was created in late 2017 by the Freeform network to coincidence with the debut of their new drama show Siren, which debuted on this date in 2018. The goal was to encourage people to watch the series first show.

❤️🖊️ Happy World Poetry Day! 🖊️❤️

Today day was created by UNESCO back in 1999 so that we may all appreciate and enjoy this beautiful form of expression.

At Usborne, we are proud to have our very own in-house poet, Jerome Martin who (as well as many other books) has written Write Your Own Poems. It's packed full of writing tips for anyone wanting to dash off a limerick, ponder a sonnet or plot an epic poem. 🌟 Children’s Mental Health Week is here! 🌟

This week any orders placed, I want to donate a mental health themed book to an organisation or local school and here is why I would like to do this.

This week I will be sharing information, health and guidance and of course books all about mental health. We can all suffer constantly or at points in our lives and sometime we just don’t know how to help ourselves or others. I know for close family and friends and my own experiences how life can have dark times and can make people do scary things that can hurt them and make them feel alone.

This week, I want to bring awareness and remind myself how I can best help myself and others with mental health problems.

Number Day!

Today I spend a little time trying to teach Leo how to tell the time with a foam clock I got from Bargain Buys yesterday. I’ll admit I got frustrated because he kept forgetting his number even tho I know he knows them but I have to remind myself he doesn’t have a long attention span. This is why Usborne books can be so helpful.

Telling the time, measuring and maths ect… all stems from know the basic numbers which is why it’s important for kids to know them before going to school. It’s also why my aim is for him to know them, write them and add them before he start in September.

There are so many amazing book options for all ages available and I definitely need to get some for Leo!
