Aiguille was established by Adrian Moore in 1987 in the spare room of his house, and moved to Staveley Mill Yard in 1991. As the business expanded, Aiguille moved within the yard, and now has a factory shop alongside the manufacturing workshop. High standards of excellence in rucksack design and construction were required to cope with the demands of mountaineering, be it on British crags, Alpine f

aces or expeditions in the greater mountain ranges of the world. The idea behind Aiguille was to produce high quality and functional equipment that was designed to last a lifetime. Our equipment has been developed through use since those early days, and is now trusted to perform, no matter what the conditions, anywhere in the world. Aiguille also trade under Aiguille Exploration. This is a range of canoeing and kayaking equipment designed and manufactured to the same high standards as is expected. In the shop, Aiguille offer a canoe outfitting service, and are always happy to advise on any matters paddling! In order to ensure the highest quality, each individual product is hand finished and thoroughly checked. Only when Aiguille is completely satisfied does it leave the premises. Jones' route direct and Moss ghyll grooves ticked off our list, we're getting close to completing routes on all the crags now.. This was a big one with a long drive round plus the long walk in a lot of heat. Awesome views and a brilliant climb for all meant this was one that'll stay with us for a while. Scafell never fails to deliver!

We completed Little Chamonix yesterday. A nice easy tick off the list. Lovely views, lots of sun and only 7 more class...

A spectacular evening doing Bowfell Buttress. The walk in was long and very very sweaty but the views more than made up for the heat. Only 4 more crags left on our classic rock round. Just about half way through completing all the routes!

Gillercombe Buttress ticked off our classic rock list. Very atmospheric, slightly damp and many midgies but the route was fantastic and we stayed dry (unless you count falling in a bog on the way down). Topped it all off with a spectacular sunset on the drive to the pub.

After work on Tuesday, the Emily’s, Jonny & Gary headed for Coniston with one goal: another evening tick in the Lakes classic rock list.

This time it was Murray’s Route on Dow Crag — hoping its famously chilly reputation might offer some relief from the heat. Instead: a hot slog in, muggy climbing conditions, and plenty of sweaty, midgey belays.

The route more than delivered though. The traverse pitches were the highlight, with brilliant movement and that classic Dow atmosphere. We topped out just as the last light faded, and for once the cool night air on the walk back to Walna Scar car park felt very welcome.

2 down, 13 to go in our after-work mission to climb all 15 of the Lakes classic rock routes this year ⛰️

Our "museum" is contantly evolving as we collect old relics and confiscate some kit from other old relics.. No Adrian, you can't have your helmet back, it's older than most of the staff here!

Most climbers visiting the shop spend a good while looking at this collection, reminiscing of simpler days when everything was much, much heavier!
