It seemed only right this month to bring things back to the start and feature Northside for the long-awaited return of cold brew season and on our not-so-guest espresso this month. Our only brief was fun and fruity, and they’ve picked out this sweet and funky anaerobic Costa Rican coffee from Finca Casa de Piedra, nailing it as ever.

Exemplar is a quarterly magazine and coffee roasting project. Their new issue shines a light on blends and their place in the coffee industry - with a contribution from our Beth.

The Chronicle Blend
Notes: Tropical Juice, Piquant Fruits, Tealike Finish

The Chronicle is a vibrantly fruity, tropical coffee that, for this season, pairs a washed Guatemalan coffee from Maria Gaspar with a natural coffee from Brazil grown by Douglas Luiz. Though only 20% of the final blend, the syrupy sweet fruit flavour of the Brazilian portion really shines through as both a standalone espresso and a long black, with some citric acidity and a tealike finish.
