Something really upset me 💔

I drive around Irvine every day doing deliveries for the shop, and I saw three birds of prey that appeared to be goshawks, all killed on the roads.

One was on Ayr Road opposite the Jet Garage, one on Harbour Road and one on Shewalton Road.

I think Goshawks are a scarce and specially protected bird in Scotland, so seeing three in one day was quite shocking for me.

I don’t know whether these were definitely goshawks or what caused each death, if it was fast driving?
I’m certainly not suggesting anything other than road casualties — but it made me wonder whether anyone else has noticed them, or whether these sightings should be reported somewhere.

If anyone knows who would be best to contact about recording these, I’d be grateful. 🦅

🌸Still looking beautiful the morning after the wedding 🌸

We popped back to The Gailes today to collect the glassware and décor from yesterday’s wedding — and the fresh flowers belonging to the wedding party were still looking absolutely gorgeous.

Another beautiful wedding complete at The Gailes Hotel and Spa🤍

The last guests have gone home, the pavilion has been carefully taken down and every hire item is heading back to the workshop, ready to be refreshed for the next couple.

Weddings aren’t just one day for us—they’re days of planning, designing, setting up and carefully packing away afterwards.
