Yep, that is the legend that is Ben Aitken lying on the floor. I think we may have got him a bit pi**ed last night 😂

We stayed in The Church Ipswich for a couple of hours after the launch and then went back to the homestead for more beer and pizza.

Thanks so much for yesterday mate, you are truly one of a kind and we love you and are privileged to know you. You’re always welcome in the shop and at the homestead, and we all look forward to seeing you again very soon ❤️

A year after arriving with 46 events, nine sell-outs and more than 1,000 tickets sold, the Ipswich Book Festival team has set its sights higher still – announcing 54 events, new venues, a dedicated Schools Week and a theme that promises to go far beyond the page.

Well THAT was an absolutely amazing evening, and I think it’s fair to say that the ipswichbookfestival launch event was a huge success.

Thank you to everyone that came along - sponsors, partners, supporters, authors, patrons and book lovers.

Huge thanks also to our wonderful Mayor - Pat Bruce-Brown and the High Sheriff of Suffolk - Oliver Paul - for coming along too.

And Ben Aitken - a massive thank you for coming up from London, and for taking to the stage to talk about Ipswich - you were absolutely brilliant and I think it’s fair to say that everyone loved you.
