Another fab weekend at The Gilded Lily 🤍

And a whole lot more Nomination stories started or continued over the weekend. ✨

One of our favourite moments was a lovely mum who came in to treat herself to a Nomination bracelet with an opal heart, and then couldn’t resist getting her daughter a matching one too, but with a ruby heart. ❤️

Honestly, these are the moments that melt our hearts. She was just the cutest and absolutely loved showing off her new bracelet. 🥰

We also had a lovely group of girls visiting from Germany, who were in Inverness as part of their cruise and wanted to find the perfect little memory to take home with them.

And obviously… they found it in Nomination. 🇮🇹✨

Because not everyone coming to Scotland is looking for a tartan handbag or a cuddly Highland cow… although, to be fair, there were a few Nomination cows added to bracelets this weekend too! 😂🐮

We love that people can come into The Gilded Lily and find a little piece of Scotland in a slightly different way.

Something beautiful they’ll actually wear, and something that will hopefully remind them of their trip every time they look at it.

And that’s what we love about Nomination, every bracelet ends up telling its own story.

A special bond, a holiday, a milestone, a favourite place or simply something that makes you smile.

Lots of little memories, all linked together.

There’s always something quite funny about delivery days at THE GILDED LILY & CO…

Because amongst all the stock that arrives, there are usually a few things that mysteriously get put aside for ourselves. 😂

Lizzi is very much about the cuteness 🐻

Shirley is a little more practical,

Molly is… well, Molly is everything! 😂

Me? Jewellery and candles are definitely my guilty pleasures, and NEOM is one of my absolute favourites.

I love the scents, the packaging and just the whole idea behind NEOM. It feels like a little bit of luxury.

We’ve just had a gorgeous new delivery in, including some beautiful NEOM gift sets, Christmas candles and the NEOM Intensive Skin Treatment Candle (If you don’t know, get to know, it’s amazing)

And talking of Christmas… 🎄

There are just 18 Saturdays between now and Christmas. 😳🎄

So our Christmas goodies are already starting to arrive, and we’ll be adding lots more over the next few months.

We’re always adding new products, trying new ideas and looking for things that we think you’ll love. And we’re always open to suggestions too, if there’s a brand or product you’d love to see us stock, tell us!

We know we won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s absolutely fine…

Having a small independent shop in a shopping centre alongside some pretty big international chains is a little bit scary at times!

So building up such an amazing bunch of regular customers means more than I can probably put into words. I always think one of the biggest compliments you can give a shop is coming back. ❤️

A lovely mum and daughter came in to see me the other night and chose a new Nomination bracelet each, rose gold for mum, silver for her daughter along with three charms each.

Then they came back yesterday and bought another new bracelet each and even more charms, but this time asked Molly to mix things up a little.

They each had their own bracelet, but Molly swapped some of the pieces between them, so they both had a little bit of each other’s bracelet. Such a lovely little touch, and something that made them feel even more personal and special. ❤️

Molly and I have done that with our own bracelets. There’s something rather lovely about carrying a little piece of each other with you.

And I think this is what makes having a small independent business so special. It’s not just about the sale. It’s the conversations, the stories behind the pieces and getting to see people come back through the door.

Kevin and his team have built up an amazing group of regular customers at SUGAR too, and that really is what we’re all about across both our Eastgate businesses.

Every coffee, breakfast, cake, bracelet, charm, gift, purchase, recommendation or simply popping through the door means more than you probably realise.

We might be little independent businesses amongst some very big names, but having our own lovely bunch of regulars makes us feel very lucky.

It’s all about the moment, the sentiment, the reason behind it… or sometimes just thinking, “why the hell not?” 😂❤️

We really do get the most lovely people through our doors.

We’ve had so many gorgeous groups in recently for permanent jewellery and Nomination, and every visit has had its own little story.

Anna and Lexi came in as best friends for matching bracelets. They were lovely and super giggly from start to finish. ❤️

Then we had a lovely mum and her two daughters, same but different. They all chose the Interlinked Hearts, one of my favourites, with two choosing gold and one silver. I love that they chose the same design but each made it their own. ❤️

We also had three generations come in together. They all chose the same chain but different charms and connectors, making each one their own. Such a lovely thing to do together, and thank you for being such a good sport and wearing the sash! 😂

Then there was Chloe, who got amazing results in her exams, massive well done, Chloe! 🎉 Her gran in Spain gave her some money to treat herself, and she chose this beautiful Nomination watch. Such a lovely way to celebrate all that hard work. ❤️

And just as we were getting ready to close, a lovely mum and daughter came in to choose their Nomination bracelets together. They both went for matching Highland Cows, with two other charms each, little reminders of their visits to Inverness and a way to mark the end of an era. ❤️

Different people. Different reasons. Different choices.

Some pieces mark something really special, some are full of meaning, and sometimes you just see something you love and think… why the hell not? 😂

And honestly, we love being part of all of it.

We LOVE a delivery day… but a Charlie Bear delivery day is definitely one of our favourites! 🐻❤️

We’ve had some absolutely gorgeous new bears arrive, along with a few familiar favourites making a very welcome return to The Gilded Lily. And honestly… we’re rather in love with them all. 😍 Tally Ho 😍😍 is quite something. He is stunning… and absolutely HUGE! And Evan’s isn’t far behind him, nearly as big and just as gorgeous. 🐻❤️

Our lovely Lizzie has completely fallen in love with Tally Ho, but she knows she might struggle to sneak him into her house… or even get him home on the bus! 😂🐻❤️

They’ve barely been here five minutes and are already causing quite a stir, so we’re not too worried about finding them a space big enough for long! 😂

Studies have shown… 😂

Coming to The Gilded Lily for a new Nomination charm, a new bracelet or getting Linked with someone special makes you significantly happier than those who… well… go somewhere else.

These studies are, of course, entirely our own.

They’re not particularly scientific, technical or peer-reviewed, but we see the results every day and quite frankly, we’re very confident in our findings. 😂

And this week’s research has been particularly good and quite literally non-stop.

Here are just a few of our completely unofficial case studies, Three best friends came in who normally meet up every year for their annual tattoo. This year, they decided to swap the tattoo needle for a little bit of sparkle and got Linked instead. ✨

Then we had a lovely couple who happened to walk past the shop, spotted what we were doing and came in, completely unaware that Permanent Jewellery was something we offered.

They decided there and then to get Linked together. ❤️

Both were such lovely moments, and it’s exactly why we love doing what we do.

We actually didn’t even have time to take photos of everyone with their new Nomination pieces because we were so busy helping people choose, chatting and getting everyone sorted.

Which, to be honest, is a pretty good problem to have. 😂
