โœจ She's in! The Seven Seas Grandeur is alongside in Invergordon today โ€” and she may be the most jaw-dropping ship to grace the Cromarty Firth all season.

Here's why. Somewhere on board sits the "Journey in Jewels" โ€” the first Fabergรฉ egg ever to reside permanently at sea ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿ’Ž โ€” the centrepiece of a 1,600-piece art collection worth millions, with works by Picasso among them.

Launched in 2023, she's the newest ship in the Regent Seven Seas fleet and a masterclass in ultra-luxury: every single cabin is a suite with a private balcony, and the flagship Regent Suite (4,443 sq ft, with its own spa and baby grand piano) has gone for over ยฃ400,000 per person on world cruises.

760 guests are ashore with us until 7pm before she sails for Lerwick in Shetland. If you catch her from the waterfront, give her a wave โ€” there's a small fortune in art floating in our firth today. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

โš“ Welcome to Invergordon, NORWEGIAN STAR! โš“

She came up the Cromarty Firth this morning from Leirvik in Norway, and tonight she sails on for Leith (Edinburgh) โ€” with a full day in our wee Highland town in between. We hope everyone aboard is enjoying their day here despite the clouds and the lack of sun โ˜€๏ธ โ€” Invergordon always puts on a warm welcome, whatever the weather!

A few things you might not know about the lady at the berth today:

๐Ÿ”ง She's a true Panamax ship โ€” at 294m long and just 32.2m across the beam, she was built to thread through the original locks of the Panama Canal with only a couple of feet to spare on each side.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Born in Germany, raised in Hawaii โ€” built by the legendary Meyer Werft yard at Papenburg and christened in Miami in November 2001, she spent her early years cruising the Hawaiian Islands.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ A room with a view โ€” of her 1,176 cabins, around 70% look straight out to sea, and a 2021 refit added the adults-only Spice H2O sundeck right up top.

โญ She's practically a local โ€” Norwegian Star calls at Invergordon nine times in 2026, making her (alongside Mein Schiff 2) the most frequent visitor of our entire season.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Safe onward sailing, AIDAsol!

As she slips the lines and heads back out of the Cromarty Firth this evening after a day with us here in the Highlands โ€” her 4th visit of the 2026 season.

We hope everyone aboard enjoyed their time ashore today! From here that famous "Kussmund" smile points north for Reykjavik โ€” Invergordon was her Highland stop between her home port of Hamburg and Iceland's land of fire and ice. ๐ŸŒ‹

Around 2,350 guests called in today โ€” mostly German families enjoying AIDA's relaxed "Clubship" style all whilst being aboard one of the greenest Energy Class ships in the fleet, which I personally love after my years of running the only Sustainable Eco shop here in Town offering sustainable, ethical and plastic free products to local residents and tourists. We love keeping it green and keeping the sea clean๐ŸŒŠโ™ป๏ธ

She'll be back soon: AIDAsol is the 3rd most frequent ship of our whole season, and fittingly as we mentioned before she's the one who gets the big job of closing out this incredible season on 14th October. So, until next time! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

โš“ Welcome back to Invergordon, MSC Preziosa!

She's no stranger to the Cromarty Firth โ€” and this morning the mighty MSC Preziosa is back again, towering over the town until she sails at 5pm.

And "towering" is the word. At 333 metres long, 139,000 tonnes and 17 decks high, she's carrying around 4,000 guests and nearly 1,400 crew โ€” that's more souls aboard than live in Invergordon itself.
A few things her guests might be enjoying onboard today:

๐ŸŒŠ The Vertigo โ€” a 120-metre water slide that was the longest ever built at sea, with a see-through section hanging 60 metres out over the water

๐ŸŠ An infinity "Garden Pool" beneath a retractable glass dome (rather handy on a grey Highland morning like this one!)

โœจ Swarovski crystal staircases and a real stone piazza at her heart

๐ŸŽฌ โ€ฆand she was named by none other than Italian screen legend Sophia Loren back in 2013

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Fun fact: her shopping arcade โ€” the Phoenician Plaza โ€” is the only surviving piece of the ship's abandoned original design as a Libyan national flagship. The rest was stripped out and reimagined; that one name stuck.

But here's our favourite bit: the best view on the Firth today isn't from Deck 17 โ€” it's right here ashore. ๐Ÿ‘‹ Whether it's the Mural Trail, a Highland distillery, or the road to Loch Ness, there's a warm welcome waiting just beyond the gangway.

All aboard the magnificent Preziosa have a wonderful day here in the Highlands today โš“๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

๐Ÿ‘‘ A Royal Visitor in the Firth Today!

A very warm Highland welcome to Cunard's magnificent Queen Anne, with us until 7pm this evening having sailed up from Leith, Edinburgh. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

She's no ordinary ship. Queen Anne is the 249th vessel to carry the Cunard name since 1839 โ€” and the newest in the fleet, entering service in 2024. At 113,000 tonnes she carries more passengers than any other ship in the Cunard fleet, including the mighty Queen Mary 2.

Here's a fact for you: she's the first cruise ship in history whose godparent is an entire city. Liverpool was given the honour at her naming ceremony, where Andrea Bocelli sang 'Time to Say Goodbye' and Spice Girl Melanie C helped smash the champagne. ๐Ÿพ

To the 3,100 passengers and 1,225 crew on board today โ€” welcome to Invergordon! Don't miss our High Street murals before you sail for Stornoway this evening.

โš“ Departs: 7pm
๐Ÿ“ Previous port: Leith, Edinburgh
