If you're intrigued by Beasts, Barghests & Boggarts, you're in for a treat. Authors and folklore experts Elizabeth Sulis Kim and Elizabeth Kim will be with us next month, delving into the stories of the mythical and monstrous beasts that prowl through folktales.

Elizabeth Sulis Kim is the author of 'The Book of Beasts: Reclaiming Animal Wisdom' - a fascinating journey through time and space, bringing together the animals which have captivated us for millenia.

Elizabeth Dearnley is the editor of several books in the popular British Library Tales of the Weird series, including 'Haunted Yorkshire' and 'Fearsome Fairies'. Her forthcoming book, The Fairy Spotter's Guide: Where to Find Banshees, Bigfoot and Other Creatures from Folklore' will be published on 10 September.

The event is from 7-8.30pm on Friday, 25 September. Tickets are Β£7 and available via the link in our bio πŸ‘ˆ. See you there πŸ‘‹.

If you're after an uplifting evening of bookish conversation, we have just the thing. Linda Green and Rebecca Green are warm, witty and always popular with our audiences.

This time, we've invited them along together to discuss their latest novels, 'If I Had My Time Again' and 'The Edge of Always'.

Linda and Rebecca will be with us from 7-8.30pm on Wednesday, 16 September. This would make a great book club outing - do spread the word and bring your friends πŸ·πŸ“š.

If I Had My Time Again is such a clever concept. Emily, Carl and Jules have all β€˜gone before their time’. After dying on the same day in Halifax, West Yorkshire, they each wake up in a room in a hotel on the outskirts of town, where they're given the opportunity to 'edit' their own lives... With the chance to undo their regrets and explore life’s infinite possibilities, what will they choose?

The Edge of Always is a tender love story about teen friends Luna and Emmett whose lives - just when they're on the cusp of something more - are torn apart by a devastating secret. Then, years later, a chance encounter beneath a portrait in Paris gives them a chance to heal their wounds. Will they finally get their always?

Both books are in paperback and will be available on the night. Reserve your tickets via the link in our bio πŸ‘ˆ.

Fans of folk horror, have you discovered David Barnett's books? He popped in recently and kindly signed our stock copies of his trio of novels, Withered Hill, Scuttler's Cove and his latest, Scratch Moss (scroll for a pic πŸ‘‰).

Told in five timelines from 1865 to 2025, Scratch Moss explores the dark, supernatural history of a northern coal mining community haunted by a malicious entity known as Red Clogs. It's been described as 'the most original folk horror of the year'.

Pop in now for your signed copy. Find them in our ever popular folklore and horror section. It was lovely to see you, David! πŸ™

Look what's arrived! Special indie bookshop editions of Donal Ryan's 'Where Are the Kings' are here ahead of publication day. We can't wait to see Donal next month at our event with Molly Aitken, whose novel 'Bright I Burn', is pictured here. What a line up πŸ”₯πŸ‘Œ!

We're big fans of both of these authors. Where Are the Kings is a powerful, funny and moving coming-of-age story about Jack, a boy reeling from the disintegration of his immediate family (see my review over at ). Bright I Burn is a fierce account of Ireland's first condemned witch, Alice Kyteler. Both authors write evocative novels and short stories set in Ireland. If you haven't discovered them yet, why not come along?

Tickets for the event on Wednesday, 9 September are selling well (we anticipate a sell out, even with a move to a larger venue). Follow the booking link to reserve yours πŸ‘‡.
