Finest Imaginary

Finest Imaginary Creating a fun range of laser cut jewellery, hand printed homewares and stationery. What's next for Finest Imaginary?

Finest Imaginary remains a DIY enterprise, my studio is in my home (complete with feline overseers) & I still screenprint from my kitchen table (much to the dismay of my long suffering boyfriend). Almost all my jewellery is made by hand in my studio, and I personally design everything under the Finest Imaginary brand. In 2012 I managed to cross a giant item off my bucket list when one of my design

s was featured in Vogue — it doesn't get much better than that! I'm working on a brand new range right now, I can't wait to show you!

Social media is still such a weird place because on one hand I love it here but also the ick is alive and well.

From “join my travel company” DMs to painfully obvious AI copy, overconsumption dressed up as aspiration, and brands barging into every conversation like they’re one of the girls, some bits of the internet are feeling especially cringe lately (and not the good cringe, I love the good cringe).

And yes, I know. Everyone can do what they want. This is not a police operation. These are just the things that personally make me want to put my phone down and go touch some grass.

What’s giving you the social media ick lately?

The tiniest of moments, the kind you’d normally laugh off and move on from, but watching how quickly it turned into “I don’t deserve…” and “no one likes me” stopped me in my tracks & made me cry.

Because it wasn’t just him.

It was watching something I’ve done my whole life happen out loud, to one of the people who I’d protect from anything. Talking him through it made me realise how much of that I’ve always kept in my own head.

What they don’t tell you about becoming a parent is how much you’ll need to reparent yourself to make sure you’re doing the best job you can for them.

Millennial parenting in 2026 is just choosing your hills and standing on them while you get judged 😂

These are some mine! Most are common sense (imo), some might get me side-eyed in the comments.

None of them are perfect (probably), they just work for our family.

If you’ve ever second guessed yourself, felt judged, or wondered if you’re doing it “right”… same girl same 🙃

👉 Tell me one parenting hill you’ll die on (no judgement, I promise)

This is your sign to start an analogue basket 🧺✨

Mine is basically a grab-and-go kit for when I want to get off my phone but don’t know what to do with my hands:

🧶 Crochet projectSomething easy I can pick up mid-row without thinking too hard
📚 A really good bookThe kind that actually pulls me in and stops me scrolling
📰 A magazineLow effort & no commitment, just flicking and reading whatever catches my eye
✏️ A sketchbook + pensFor doodling, list-making, or getting ideas out of my head
🧩 A puzzle bookSomething simple to distract me from the doomscrolling!

It’s not always about being productive, it’s just about having somewhere to go that isn’t your phone. Having a basket full of analogue hobbies ready and waiting removes the friction of having to find stuff, it’s so handy!

Save this for when your screen time’s creeping up 👀

My kids are the most important thing in the world to me, but they’re not my entire world.

I’ve just had a few days in London with Adobe, surrounded by creative people, talking about work, ideas, and things that had absolutely nothing to do with snacks or sibling fights… and it reminded me how much I need that break in my life.

Being needed all the time is a lot, & somewhere in the middle of school runs, life admin, and keeping small humans alive, it’s easy to forget you’re allowed to enjoy your own life too.

This doesn’t make me less of a mum. If anything, it makes me a better one.

This is a follow up to a post I did a couple of months ago about how I’ve struggled to lose weight over the last year.

Spoiler: I’m still carrying the pounds that in an ideal world I’d have lost with a calorie deficit.

I haven’t really been trying to lose it anyway. Time, life, winter, work, two chaotic kids. It’s fine.

In a world where GLP-1s are becoming the one-stop shop for weight loss (no judgement here), it can feel weird to exist in a body that’s just… normal & carrying a few extra pounds.

The body image noise is getting loud again in a way that feels verrrrrry familiar if you grew up in the 90s.

So yes, I’d still like my jeans to fit a bit better, but right now I’m focusing on the amazing things my body can do. The weight I’m most interested in these days is what I put on the bar at the gym.

Trying to scroll less and actually use my brain and hands again, so I made a list of 100+ phone-free hobbies you can try depending on your mood.

Creative, tired, energetic, curious, whimsical… there’s something here for every kind of day.

Save this for the next time you catch yourself doomscrolling and want something better to do instead. ✌🏻

Trying to spend less time glued to my phone continues… without resorting to drastic measures like moving somewhere with no wifi.

This week I kept my hands busy with:
✨ finally hanging one of my Hama bead creations
🧶 working on my crochet book blanket
🎬 an actual trip to the cinema
🐦 a bit of bird watching
🪡 chipping away at a cross stitch project

Nothing groundbreaking here, just small analogue hobbies and low-effort activities that give my brain a break from the constant scroll.

Did it completely cure my doomscrolling? Absolutely not, but it definitely meant I picked up my phone a bit less.

If you’re also trying to reduce screen time or find more offline things to do, save this for later when you need ideas.

Also… what’s your current hands busy hobby? I’m always looking for new ones to try.
