Join me for a journey into the hidden world of fungi and mushrooms. Become a tree in the forest, learn about where stories come from and listen to a lively retelling of my children’s story The Mouse and the Mushroom Blooms . The story follows a little lost mouse into the forest, in search of her own magic. Who will help her on the way? The story is all written in rhyming poetry and can be enjoyed by 2-7 yr olds. Come and get involved, learn about the fantastic world of fungi, creativity and finding your own magic!

It’s so lovely to see what children resonate with. Lots of them love the pictures, which is just gorgeous… especially what they are called ‘The Epiphany Page’, when the mouse realises the magic is inside her all along!

Definitely made me feel very warm and magical reading them. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Still buzzing from World Book Week, and was blown away by the kind words from the schools about how they found the day ☺️

It was so magical to see what the kids came up with and how The Mouse and the Mushroom Blooms sparked their imagination. We created our own front covers to our own stories, experimented with water colours, did lots of colouring in, and I read the book a bazillion times to different classes. We also looked at the process of making the book itself, and the original watercolour paintings. I also answered some fab questions from very inquisitive children.

Basically for me, it was the MOST fun. Talking about fungi, mycelium, creativity and then making lots of art with the students. And from their feedback, they had a lovely time too, hooray! 🙃

📚Happy World Book Day! 📚

Books are such a fantastic way of escaping and entering into something completely different to our own. They really are magical portals into other universes.

I’m spending the week at three different primary schools this week. We’re talking mushrooms, books and getting creative! Making art and book covers, posters and painting. It has been a magical week so far and we’re only in the middle.

I know it’s the 20th January, but hey ho. I hope you had a wonderful break over the holidays, bring on 2025!

I was sent quite a few photos over the holidays from families reading The Mouse and the Mushroom Blooms.

I never thought about what it would feel like to have people send me pictures of the book in the wild. Of the book the being enjoyed by children, read aloud and interpreted by each individual. I can safely say it’s one of the loveliest feelings I’ve ever had!

Thank you SO much for everyone who bought books at Christmas and even more so for sharing the photos with me.

May 2025 be a great year for you!
