Join the Cellar Hand for a pop-up wine tasting to discover (and buy!) wines from the Château de Campuget, near Nimes in Provence. We will be tasting three roses, a superb viognier and a very special Syrah so if you like your wines southern and French, come along to Our Shop from 16.30 on Friday 14th August. We will also have one-time offers on the Australian Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon and the Il Pumo Negroamaro, owing to overstocks, and some other bin ends. Available only on the evening.

🍦Celebrate (albeit belatedly) World Ice Cream Day with Our Shop. We always stock a great range of single serve ice creams including all your favourites and all handily placed right by the tills.
Frankly, we don’t really need an excuse! 😎

Wine Fest 26 depends entirely on wine club volunteers to do the planning, set up, food prep, table laying, flower foraging and arranging, serving wine, clearing up, washing glasses and of course deploying their musical talents.
So this post is a tribute and a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who helped behind the scenes and front of house. One of you was behind the camera so does not feature - Duncan Smith, who also made the hummus! Thanks also due to Houghton & Wyton Feast Week for giving us the platform.

Wine Fest 26 brought to you by Our Shop. 117 guests plus wine club volunteers. 25 Hallgarten wines. Delicious grazing platters. Brilliant music. Don't forget to join Bill Skinner this Saturday 11 July and get a copy of his history of the village shop. If you miss Bill you can still buy it in the shop after 13.00. The Houghton & Wyton Feast Week History Trail will be starting from the same location and our good friend Maurice Hanslow will be paying tribute to Potto Brown.

The author is Chair of the History Society, erstwhile shop committee member and continuing super-volunteer – the Master of the Newspapers – our very own Bill Skinner.
