Our last 2 rescue bunnies are Bilbo and Xena. I'll introduce them together as they came together 💕
Bunny Angels UK were told about 2 bunnies roaming around a cul-de-sac, in a village close to Huddersfield. One bunny (now Xena) had been roam for quite a while and some residents presumed she was wild, because of her colouring. Then a second bunny appeared (now Bilbo), who was clearly domesticated. A few months had passed and they spent their days together, digging up people's lawns and hiding under cars, but then a fox was spotted and the locals were worried for their safety.
Vicky from Bunny Angels and I went to catch Bilbo and realised Xena wasn't a wildie either (she was much larger), so we caught them both. I offered to fostered them for Bunny Angels. After getting back to my house we realised they were male and female. Luckily Xena wasn't pregnant and was spayed and Bilbo neutered. They were living side by side with us (separated by mesh), while their hormones settled and they could be reintroduced. We found a rescue space for them, but it was looking likely that they would have to be split up, as single rabbits are much easier to rehome. Knowing this we decided as a family to adopt them, so they could stay together. They'd spent weeks grooming each other through the mesh, so it seemed really unfair to split ttem up. Eight weeks after their ops they were reintroduced and bonded. It was the easiest bond I've ever done, so was definitely the right decision 🥰
Bilbo is a friendly, cheeky boy (approx 3 years), who loves speeding around the garden, jumping in bushes and then chilling 😂 Xena a sweet, but quite timid (approx 4 years). She loves snuggles with Bilbo and enjoys a stroke on her terms. She also really loves to dig! They are inseparable 🥰
So pleased we saved them both and they now have a safe, loving home together, with us 🥰
