Evening all! Paul here. I hope you’re enjoying the weekend.

While I’m in the middle of learning how Midi works for the digital rig, I decided to put an analog one together - attempting to replicate some late ‘60s / early ‘70s tones.

This one features a JHS Wh**ey Tighty compressor, Jam Pedals Retrovibe mk4 for univibe textures, Warm Audio Fuzzy Tone Box for the drive and a Keeley Caverns for reverb and echo.

I’ve also opted to use some temporary analog Velcro in places where I need to make a new base plate for the Warm Audio Fuzz pedal (it has feet and is fuzzy underneath, plus the base plate is recessed on the inside).

What rigs are you using at the moment, or planning for your next tone quest?

Along with the pedal board builds going on, I thought it would be helpful to see some of the tools I've been using to help. You might be familiar with them, and they are really good references to validate out ideas in your head:

Both are great to layout pedals on a board of your choosing. The Rockboard one also incorporates cable runs, too, so it helps you to work out where everything needs to go.

Made some solid progress with the new rig this evening! Thanks Orion Guitars UK for the morale support and coffee!

The board is setup and cable routing is done… for now… I may get a patch bay for the Rockboard quad 4.1 to make setting it up to play even easier.

It’s ready for MIDI programming now, which I’m anticipating will be a steep learning curve.

More progress to follow very soon!

Hi everyone! Paul here. Hope you’re having a good week so far.

I’ve never been a fan of fuzz pedals, however I managed to find a second hand fuzzy fuzz Foxy Tone Box pedal from Warm Audio that I thought was worth giving a try. I’m mightily impressed! It definitely sounds the business, coupled to a Jam Pedals Retrovibe mkIV.

In other news, parts have arrived to begin the assembly of a highly ambitious (for me at least), new digital rig. More on that tomorrow!

If anyone would like to see (or help out!!!) these tomorrow, I’ll be at the Toy Shop from 6:30pm ish

Evening all! Paul here. I hope everyone is enjoying some weekend rest.

Something a little different - gasp! “no guitars!?” I hear you say. Fear not, it’s all part of Matt and I’s tonal quest to recreate legendary tones with varying budgets, so there will be something for everyone… a bit like crisps.

What musical period excites you most?

What crisps tickled your taste buds more than the others?

I’ll be down at the toy shop on Tuesday if anyone fancies popping in to talk all things guitar, tone and savoury snacks. I’ll also be starting some experimentation on a new guitar rig, so if anyone fancies seeing it in progress, I’ll happily show what I’m doing (attempting to do!!).

I’m partial to a Tomato Snap myself!

Good morning Pluckers Matt here, Due to some unexpected circumstances I’m having to take a step away from s***z n giggles for a short time. Paul will be steadying the good bad obsession ship and on my return we’ll be diving into the many Digitech pedals I’ve purchased because I’m an idiot.

Cheers pluckers, see you on the flip side.

So on my quest for “Back in the day pedals” I scoured Evil bay to bring you something from the mid 2000’s I was going to reveal them but I accidentally won another one today so you’ll have to wait.

One was a whopping £75 quids back in the day, that’s bloody Christmas present territory that is lol 😂
